Raspberry Coconut Smoothie – Delicious Family Favourite Recipe

My eldest daughter and husband do not like smoothies; full stop. For months I’ve been trying to convince them with chocolate shake smoothies, frozen banana smoothé’s (like a frappé) and the likes, but to no avail.

This smoothie though – hallelujah! It’s pink; a big plus for my 7 year old daughter. It’s sweet; a plus for both husband and daughter. It’s smooth; no green bits or nuts. Both daughter and husband loved it, as did my youngest daughter. She loves every smoothie though, even the ones I don’t like. I think her favourite activity with me is making smoothies. She sits on the kitchen bench and pops al

l the ingredients into the blender, then positions herself on the couch with a straw and waits for her smoothie. You won’t hear a peep for 10 minutes or so while she happily sucks up every last drop.

This is a really yummy smoothie, maybe not the most nutritious or the highest in protein, but it’s a crowd pleaser for sure. An easy breakfast (especially for people like me who aren’t big on breakfasts!) or snack.

Make sure you use natural yoghurt to get the benefits of the probiotics. I love Jalna Greek Yoghurt the most, but the Aldi one isn’t bad either. Many coconut waters have added sugars and other crap – use a 100% pure coconut water brand such as Beyond 100% pure coconut water.

Raspberry Coconut Smoothie

A favourite smoothie recipe in my household – deliciously sweet with a bit of goodness from banana, coconut water and raspberries.

  • 1/2 cup coconut water (the 100% pure kind)
  • 1/2 cup yoghurt (natural, greek)
  • 1 banana (frozen)
  • 1/3 cup raspberries (frozen or fresh)
  • 1/2 tblsp honey (optional)
  1. Add all the ingredients into your blender. The honey is optional – I like it without but the kids like it in.

  2. Blend on high for 40 seconds or until you’re happy with the consistency. Enjoy!
  • Honey or other sweetener is optional – I prefer this smoothie without but the kids like it in
  • Feel free to double the recipe if you’re making smoothies for more than 1 person
